Here are just a few examples of problems and solutions shared:

Spending $150 on vans, long distance airport buses or parking charges at airport lots.

Stay and Park packages at airport hotels for $100 or less.

Traveling to the airport only to find the airline canceled your flight the day before.

                 Travel Alerts!

Getting to your room and finding the electronic key is deactivated.

Don't place keys near a cell phone.

Exploring for restaurants near your hotel.

Ask the front desk agent if they have discount coupons for nearby restaurants.

Who am I and why should you listen to me?

I am David C. Reynolds...

... I started in the hotel business in 1972, while I was attending Hotel and Restaurant school at City College of San Francisco. I currently work at an airport hotel in San Francisco and have worked in the industry before and after the Internet became a business standard. I see people daily who cost themselves money, either because they are unprepared for travel or they use a flawed strategy for reserving their rooms. Such as always using just one 'special' Third Party site to book their travel.

On a daily basis I encounter people who leaves cell phones and/or chargers, clothes, important papers, even cameras in their rooms. Often people call me from the airport with NO IDEA where they are staying because they didn't bring any paperwork with them. I decided to write a book offering meaningful advice on how to handle such situations as well as tips for travel in general. You can start saving time and money by reading my tips and advice.

"David--This was very informative. You gave some great tips but most importantly you emphasized self reliance by being proactive instead of reactive."

Once you read this book, you will think twice about every move you make from the time you start planning your trip until you arrive home. What good does it do to save $75.00 on your flight or hotel costs by comparison shopping and then cost yourself $100 because you gave the hotel the wrong date of arrival or you took the wrong shuttle to the wrong hotel. I've even seen travelers come to the wrong AIRPORT and have to pay $90 for a cab across the bay! I can't guarantee that you won't make mistakes b

ut I can help prevent many with simple steps that you will discover inside. And if my book does not offer more value than what it cost you to purchase it, I'll cheerfully REFUND YOUR MONEY!

Have You Ever Made One Of The Following COSTLY MISTAKES?

Mistakes that COST YOU MONEY! Such as:

Not finding out the area you are going to will be sold out and now you pay double for a room.

Assuming you can miss your morning shuttle and just get on the next one.

Taking only one set of keys on your family vacation.

You left your phone charger behind and now have to buy a new one or pay $20 for shipping.

My book will show you how these mistakes are COSTING YOU MONEY and how to avoid them.

Perhaps more importantly, when you arrive in a city and find a convention is in town, the chapter "Finding a Room in a Sold Out City" will show you:

  • Where to look for a cheaper hotel room if your location is sold out and/or super expensive.

  • How to approach a desk agent to get information or tips on where you might find a room.

  • I'll show you little known travel sites that may have rooms available and at lower prices.

  • I'll show you strategies that will ensure you don't have to sleep in the airport.

Are you considering a trip overseas? To Asia or Africa? Maybe Canada or Mexico even? I have included a section you don't want to miss - Travel Etiquette Tips for foreign countries. You don't want to make a bad impression on your hosts but did you know leaving food on your plate is considered offensive in some cultures? Yet NOT leaving something on the plate is an insult in other cultures! In addition to preliminary tips offered for the Top Ten destinations, I have included links to resources for more in-depth discussion about etiquette in many more countries.

Here's a quick look at just a few pieces of advice.

Russians and New Zealanders expect strong eye contact when meeting and greeting, though staring is to be avoided as it indicates your being a little too personal. But in Japan, eye contact is minimal and often the host will look down at their shoes to avoid eye contact. This is a sign of respect, not disrespect.

France: You should not just dive into your meal. First, wait for your host to place their napkin on their lap and then do the same.

Mexico: Don't leave the table immediately after you finish eating. Drinking to excess is frowned upon in Mexico, especially when done by women.

If you have ever regretted a bad first impression you've made, you know manners are the key. Just showing your hosts you are 'trying' can make the difference between a great trip and an average one. Don't leave home without at least a little information on your side.
